This page provides links to the NAVA Technology Intervention training on LEARNPRO as well as further information for any ICU professionals from the whole MDT who just need screening and randomisation training. We also include a link to the CoReCCT level training for the research nurses, API and PI. This is common to AWAKE PRONE, PROTECT AIRWAYS and RELEASE.

We have tried to make all of our training as rapid and effective as possible.

In our main website menu we also have Quick Guides to both NAVA technology and standard care for ICU staff who want a quick reminder or guidance without going through the formal training.

Nurses are vital in effective safe use of NAVA technology (NAVA monitoring AND using NAVA mode). As with other ICU monitoring and ventilator modes, ICU nurses need to be confident about interpreting the neural drive signal and in weaning using NAVA mode.

Doctors are critical to use of NAVA technology (NAVA monitoring and NAVA mode). They need to use the information coming from neural monitoring to make good treatment decisions and then use neurally triggered pressure support in patients who are breathing spontaneously.

Allied healthcare professionals including physiotherapists and Speech & Language Therapists are crucial to the effective use of NAVA technology (NAVA monitoring and NAVA mode) in ventilatory weaning. It can allow targeted therapies and optimisation of rehabilitation strategies.
