Training Resources for the Clinical Team

This page provides resources and links to the formal clinical training modules to help doctors, nurses and other AHPs to gain an understanding of our interventions to improve the quality of care patients will receive in the trial. We have worked hard to ensure that training is rapid and relevant. We are all too aware of the pressure that clinical teams are under. LearnPro are the proposed training provider for all of the CoReCCT studies and there will soon be an active link to this training. In the short-term the UK NAVA team have provided equivalent training modules for your teams. Sign up simply requires an email. They are quick to use.

We have also provided links to the Getinge Academy training for Servo U and NAVA technology which may also be useful for those interested.

Nurses are vital in effective safe use of NAVA technology (NAVA monitoring AND using NAVA mode). As with other ICU monitoring and ventilator modes, ICU nurses need to be confident about interpreting the neural drive signal and in weaning using NAVA mode.

Info for Doctors

Doctors are critical to use of NAVA technology (NAVA monitoring and NAVA mode). They need to use the information coming from neural monitoring to make good treatment decisions and then use neurally triggered pressure support in patients who are breathing spontaneously.

Info for Therapies

Allied healthcare professionals including physiotherapists and Speech & Language Therapists are crucial to the effective use of NAVA technology (NAVA monitoring and NAVA mode) in ventilatory weaning. It can allow targeted therapies and optimisation of rehabilitation strategies.
